Adding a WIP to the bot

There are three primary ways via Commands of adding a WIP to the bot. Two are based upon the first, which will be covered in order.

Constraints

The primary rule of the bot is that you cannot have two WIPs of the same name for the same fandom. For example, if I have a WIP named test in the fandom Gundam, I cannot add a second WIP named test in that same fandom. However if I have a WIP named test in both Project Wingman and Gundam, that is okay.

Adding a general WIP to the bot via /add_wip

The bot supports a generalized WIP addition via the command /add_wip, which requires three mandatory fields:

  1. wip_name (String)
  2. fandom (String)
  3. is_long_fic (Boolean)

wip_name

This is the name of the WIP that you would like to add. Please see the above section named constraints. This name can be edited using the /edit_wip_name command.

fandom

This is the fandom of the WIP that you would like to add. There is no curated list of fandoms -- so typos can be adjusted using the /edit_wip_fandom command.

is_long_fic

This is whether or not you categorize the WIP as a 'longfic' or not. This is entirely user-decided. The bot does not ingest information regarding the length of your WIP

Any case-insensitive statement of "True" or "False" should be effective for filling out this field.

Adding a long WIP to the bot via /add_long_wip

The more specific methods of adding long WIPs to the bot can be done via the above command, which will remove the necessity to fill out the is_long_fic field during invocation.

The /add_long_wip command has two mandatory fields:

  1. wip_name (String)
  2. fandom (String)

Adding a long WIP to the bot via /add_short_wip

The more specific methods of adding short WIPs to the bot can be done via the above command, which will remove the necessity to fill out the is_long_fic field during invocation.

The /add_long_wip command has two mandatory fields:

  1. wip_name (String)
  2. fandom (String)

wip_name

This is the name of the WIP that you would like to add. Please see the above section named constraints. This name can be edited using the /edit_wip_name command.
