First time sign in to the Forgejo (git) Service

Follow these instructions to get signed into the Forgejo (git) service for the first time.

  1. Navigate to the Forgejo service at https://git.contrastellar.com
  2. Select "sign in" in the top right
  3. Select "Sign in with contrastellar SSO"
  4. Follow sign-in prompts for getting signed in. Your account username will be the email provided to you ahead of time.
    • Your temporary password will also be provided
    • When setting your own password, the "current password" field will be that temporary password
  5. Set up MFA following the prompts. The recommended Auth app will be the Microsoft Authenticator
  6. If you already have an account on the Forgejo instance, please provide the username and password for that in order to link the SSO and the existing account.
    • If you do not have an account, please register at that time.
  7. At this point, further sign-ins to the service should be done with the SSO option, even if you already had an account on the service.
